The last customer of the day purchases a rare black opal for his Australian wife’s birthday. Greg reads an article in their town paper to Luke about a famous kangaroo named Joey. Joey once lived in their quaint island town with a prominent family. He often got out of his yard and once hopped several blocks away to an exclusive beach club party. The daughter of the President of the United States would often visit Joey. Luke’s dream sequence of events take them from the Australian Outback to the Great Barrier Reef. They meet an aborigine boy and his kangaroo. With the help of an Australian Princess and her friends, they stop cutters from stripping the land and harming the habitats of the wallaby, kangaroo, and koala. They discover “the Queen of Gems,” the black opal. Luke awakens to a surprise ending.
